The 7th Annual Korean Australian Young Professionals' Cocktails for Charity

That time of the year has rolled around again-

Less than a week left until the flagship event of the year!

In association with KAY Leaders (kayleaders.com.au), we will be holding this year’s Cocktails for Charity.

The evening is the most prominent event in the Korean Australian professional community, attracting each year over 250 Korean Australian professionals as well as politicians, diplomats and other distinguished guests for a night of networking and raising money for a good cause.

This year, we will raise money for 'Shake it up' which promotes and funds Parkinson's disease research in Australia aimed at better treatments and ultimately a cure. For more information, please visit - https://shakeitup.org.au/

All profits (including all proceeds from raffle sales) will be donated to 'Shake it Up.'

Sports Day 2018

On Saturday, 12 May 2018, the Korean Australian Young Leaders (KAY Leaders) hosted the 5th Korean Australian Young Professionals' Sports Day at Strathfield Park. The participating teams were KALA, KAY Leaders and the Overseas Korean Trade Association (OKTA). The events included football, basketball, OX quiz, dodgeball, tug of war, chicken fight and the final relay.

KALA were victorious in the football, basketball and the final relay events, which was enough to secure their 4th championship in five years. Thank you to everyone who organised the event and participated and supported Team KALA on the day.

KALA presents: Working in Korea

On Friday 23 March, Ken Nam and Hae-Sang Chung come to the Sir Owen Dixon Chambers at the MLC centre to present on working in Korea as Korean Australian lawyers.

Ken works in Herbert Smith Freehills Seoul as a Senior Associate and will speak about the international law firm experience in Seoul that so many of us are curious about.

Hae-Sang has worked as a foreign legal counsel at Hyundai Heavy Industries in Seoul for almost four years and will shed light on his unique experience as an in-house lawyer in one of the largest shipbuilding companies in the world.

The event is a great opportunity for any member interested in gaining an insight into working in Korea. We look forward to seeing you there.

The 5th Annual Korean Young Professionals' Cocktails for Charity

Following the success of the last four years and after increasing demand, Korean Australian Young Leaders, Korean Australian Lawyers Association and Korean Australian Medical Society invite you to the 5th Annual Korean Australian Young Professionals’ Cocktails for Charity night!

This year’s fundraiser is for 'Mary's House', a new refuge for women and children facing crisis due to domestic violence in the Lower North Shore. 

North Sydney Police Station receives on average, 13 calls a day from women in fear, yet prior to Mary's House, there was no shelter in the area for women and children who needed to flee from immediate threat. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be allocated directly to funding the roomsand care packages for the women and their children staying at Mary's House. Come and mingle with professionals across all industries including law, medicine, business, finance, entertainment and design while giving back to a cause that helps people desperately in need.

 

This event aims to support networking and a sense of connectedness within Korean Australian professionals across differing industries, celebrate the achievements of highly distinguished Korean Australians in selected industries, and engender a sense of civic duty and community engagement via contribution to a worthwhile cause.
